Growing Doubts on the Far Right Fringe

Rumor has it up DC way that poor Rafael 'Ted' Cruz may be losing some steam among some of the very groups that have been pimping him all these months.  With the exception of the nutjobs working for Dick 'Les' Armey - you know the former Majority leader who stabbed Gingrich in the back, got all kids jobs that were dependent on their Daddy being a Congressman - wiser heads in on the far, far right (both of them) have concluded that Raffy is too far back and that more stuff will be coming out on him (drip, drip, drip) for him to move into a position to seriously challenge for the Republican nomination..

Yup as other senate primaries heat up and as big bucks keep getting sucked into the presidential contest, there's not too much left to try to sell a Canadian in Texas - the home of 20 plus media markets.  Seems Santorum's star is on the rise as Raffy Cruz' is on the descent.

Tsk, tsk, who said that national politics wouldn't have a big impact on this race?  Apparently it may, just not the way Raffy thought.

Is Ted Cruz luzin' it?

Is Ted Cruz going bald? See for yourself:

Man, that sure is looking thin. Here's another vantage point:

Yuppers. That scalp and it's folicles are goin' south for good.  Maybe takin' a trip down Havana way.

Well, for a big massive Canadian Cuban ego like Rafael 'Ted' Cruz this could be devastating.  Probably expalins why he yells 'FREEDOM' and 'LIBERTY' so damn much, he just can't bare the thought of anyone looking at that ever growing forehead of his.

Fortunately for Rafael 'Ted' Cruz, there's help.

That great whiz from the 1980's, Ron Popeil, has a solution.  Handy hair in a can.  Now some think that this crap looks like someone took a whiz on your head.  But when you're Ted Cruz, a man on the go trying to save Texas, you have to make due until you can venture out to the Betty Ford Clinic for a hair transplant and some lipo.

And Rafael, it's so easy, just watch Ron do this on himself.  Hell, even Josh Perry or that email thief working for you could handle this:

One good spray can and you might look like this:

Yikes!  Well, at least the guy above really is a Texas Hispanic (even if he might be SSO).

Cruz plant knife in Senator Cornyn's back

Well Raffy 'Ted' Cruz apparently will sell his soul for a U.S. Senate.  Apparently he may have sold his vote.  Seems he is not willing to say he'd support soon-to-be Senior U.S. Senator for Texas John Cornyn for a leadership post in the Republican Caucus.  Cruz isn't even close to being elected and he's already putting a knife in the back of the man who would be his only Republican colleague.

Why?  Seems Club for Growth darling a super right winger Jim CeMint of South Carolina wants to run for Republican Leader or Whip.  So it begs teh question:  what did Raffy Cruz do to get his endorsement and that of the Club for Growth libertarians? Perhaps committing to throw a fellow Texan overboard in a leadership fight?

Cornyn has stayed out of the primary fight - so far.  It will be interesting to see if Cruz can push him into doing otherwise.

The Cheater

Cruz was the only Senate Candidate using debate cheat sheets.
Those that attended the recent recent Texas Public Policy Foundation/Empower Texans U.S. Senate Debate in Austin noticed one thing:  Rafael 'Ted' (Raffy to us) Cruz was using notes and papers in the debate.  Candidates were told 'no notes.'  Cruz loves to brag and point out his debating skills and how he was a 'champion debater.'  So it's not like he doesn't understand that debates have rules.

The moderator should have called him on it, because it was so obvious even people at the back of the room noticed Cruz shuffling his cheat sheets.  The fact is that Cruz cheated.  The guy who whines and pines about other candidates not participating in all 577 candidate forums in east podunkville and beyond does not play by the rules.

So for all future debates, we'd like this sign posted directly in Cruz' line of site:

It may not make Raffy Cruz any more honest, but it may remind others to keep an eye on this shifty eyed 'Cuban by way of Canada.'  And if Cruz gets caught doing it again, we'll work to get copies of this book distributed to future debate attendees:

It's a must read for anyone trying to understand Raffy Cruz and his campaign!  It's available on Amazon.com and at many fine local book retailers.  The forward should be dedicated to Raffy Cruz.

Conservative Thunderbolt burns Raffy Cruz to a crisp

The Honorable Mike Huckabee, the standard bearer of post-Reagan Conservatism in America, has endorsed for U.S. Senate in Texas.....DAVID DEWHURST!
Huckabee makes it official:  Dewhurst is the TRUE Conservative!
That's right, the final word on Conservatism to millions of Texans and Americans is supporting the current Lt. Governor of Texas over Raffy Cruz.  I guess just cause you can pronounce the words "Liberty" and "Freedom" without a Cuban or Canadian accent does not make you the most conservative candidate in a campaign.  Real conservative records of accomplish matter.  Substance over hot air - that's the Huckabee standard.

Here's the letter/email that Raffy Cruz is bound to get (or have gotten) -  if he is on the true conservative mailing lists (probably going out as we speak):

Dear Raffy Cruz,

Huck PAC and I are pleased to endorse Lt. Governor David Dewhurst for U.S. Senate from Texas.

A native Texan, David Dewhurst has served as Lt. Governor and President of the Texas Senate since 2003.

Lt. Governor Dewhurst is a strong fiscal conservative, with a record to show for it. He’s been an ardent supporter of legislation to create new jobs and improve the economy of Texas.

Lt. Governor Dewhurst repeatedly helped cut spending and taxes, including the largest tax cut in Texas history and balancing every budget since taking office. As a result, Texas' economy has grown faster than the national economy and more Texans are employed than at any other time in the state's history.

Not only is he a  fiscal conservative, but he shares our social values as well and will continue to fight for our shared values in Washington.

Lt. Governor Dewhurst has worked on passing legislation to protect the sanctity of life and define marriage as a union between one man and one woman. He also strongly believes in our 2nd amendment rights.

I hope you will join me in supporting Lt. Governor David Dewhurst for U.S. Senate from Texas.

Standing Strong for America,

Mike Huckabee
Governor of Arkansas, 1996-2007

Ted Cruz: The New Roy Cohn?

Cruz fails to tell Facebook readers that Dewhurst was in Iowa.

The posting above by Raffy Cruz on Facebook this afternoon followed a meeting today of a Republican Women's group way down in Williamson County.  The posting, just like Raffy Cruz's omission of the truth about his father fighting Castro (his Pappa allegedly fought alongside Castro), fails to tell Facebook readers that the reason Lt. Governor Dewhurst was not at this luncheon was because he was in IOWA - campaigning for Governor Perry.

Just like any sneaky snakey lawyer, Cruz omits facts and details that he knows about himself (there was an email sent out by some club officer last week explaining why Dewhurst would not be attending, so this was no secret) in order to score points through deception, or by only telling part of a story.

Lawyers in general are like this, but Harvard Lawyers are the worst.  Case in point:

Just like Ted Cruz: A Harvard Lawyer.

Which leads us to the late Roy Cohn.

Cohn was a New York lawyer who worked for the infamous Senator Joesph McCarthy at one time. Here's what Wikepedia has posted about Roy Cohn:

"Federal investigations during the 1970s and 1980s charged Cohn three times with professional misconduct, including perjury and witness tampering.[1] He was accused in New York of financial improprieties related to city contracts and private investments. He was never convicted of any charge. In 1986, a five-judge panel of the Appellate Division of the New York State Supreme Court disbarred Cohn for unethical and unprofessional conduct, including misappropriation of clients' funds, lying on a bar application, and pressuring a client to amend his will. In this case in 1975, Cohn entered the hospital room of a dying and comatose Lewis Rosenstiel, the multi-millionaire founder of Schenley Industries, forced a pen to his hand and lifted it to the will in an attempt to make himself and Cathy Frank—Rosenstiel's granddaughter—beneficiaries. The resulting marks were determined in court to be indecipherable and in no way a valid signature.[15] He lost his law license during the last month of his life. At that time, National Review senior editor Jeffrey Hart referred to him as 'an ice-cold sleaze.'"

There are dozens of other examples of omissions, half-truths and other lawyerly examples of rotten and wretched lawyerly behavior by Roy Cohn.

Cohn wasn't born this way, he proably started out omitting facts and failing to explain little details that can change a story entirely - just like Rafael "Ted" Cruz is doing right now.

From Cruz to Cohn? Roy Cohn wrote the book on being a scumbag lawyer.  And Ted Cruz?  Well.  It's a slippery slope, a slippery slope to being the next Roy Cohn.
